WEDDING SEASON // DISNEY+
An Action packed, romantic thriller 8 part series for Disney+. We made this series in Manchester, Scotland and Las Vegas at catapult speed!
The design concept for Wedding Season was two fold. Dispensing to the viewer as a series of present day and flashbacks, we struck a dichotomy within the palette that allowed us to create momentum as we traveled through scenes. Vibrant pops of Pinks and Blues featured in flashback scenes are cut by stark tones of burgundy and greens for present day.
We worked to harmonise our colours as we developed our sets. I worked with my buyers to produce a great level of detail within the Set Decoration and Action Props for this production. I worked closely with our Floristry team to provide a distinctive creative style of design for the Five different Wedding and engagement party sets.
The joy of this production comes from the design contrasts found between the sets. An example of this can be found where the sleek, impenetrable finishes of wipe-clean plastics and bolt-less stainless steel in our Municipal sets contrasted with homemade and hand-crafted decor that dominated Yuna and Rory’s wedding.
Coordinating the Set Decoration for multiple large location dresses in a busy multi City schedule kept us on our toes! With over 100+ sets across the series (and world) we came in on budget and are delighted with the final result!
